Boats to rent for the Waddenzee
The Waddenzee is the inland sea between the Wadden Islands and the North Sea on the one side, and the mainland of the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark on the other.
Different ship types have been developed for the shallow waters of the Waddenzee and the Zuiderzee, with flat bottoms and side swords. Today, the Waddenzee is navigated by ferries to the Wadden Islands, fishing, pleasure craft and traditional sailing freighters such as clippers, tjalks, barges, etc.
Sailing on the Waddenzee is extra attractive because of the natural beauty, the cloudy skies and the vastness of the area. If you are lucky, you will encounter one or more seals. And of course, Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog are fantastic Wadden islands to sail to by sailing boat.
In short, if you want to sail on the Waddenzee, it is possible to rent a sailing boat from Workum, Stavoren, Lemmer, Warns or Medemblik.
